Tech fans take note, was the motto at Westfield Centro this summer because at the end of May, the doors of Germany’s first HUAWEI Experience Store opened for the first time in Europe’s largest shopping mall with 125,000 square metres of sales space. Prior to this, the store had been completely remodelled with a great deal of attention to detail, which meant that the digital community of the Ruhr region could expect a unique shopping and and a new world of experience. To ensure that no visitor missed this unique grand store opening of the technology giant, HUAWEI used the extraordinary screens of the flagship destination for the perfect brand domination.

Exposure on all channels for the grand opening

One of the highlights of the event was the campaign on the UDS (Unexpected Digital Signature). The worldwide unique 360° advertising medium in the heart of the shopping centre perfectly showcased the store opening. The white illuminated lettering on the shiny blue background became an absolute eye-catcher for countless visitors. But that was not all. Numerous digital outdoor displays along the well frequented  promenade directly at the centre already drew attention to the opening in the Westfield Centre.

In addition, a large online and social media campaign was launched simultaneously, which ensured nationwide interest. A give-away event with great opening offers was held in order to attract as many as possible of the 15 million annual visitors to the mall.

Technology and innovation at your fingertips

But those who missed the opening need not be disappointed: The company came to Oberhausen to stay. Technology-loving visitors to the shopping centre can still discover product innovations in mobile phones, PCs and tablets. And that is by no means everything. They can also look forward to a special feature of the new HUAWEI store: the so-called “Smart Office Area”, which presents comprehensive technology systems for mobile working. The new store also features intelligent smart home solutions for visitors.

An offer that has gone down well: the HUAWEI Experience Store in Oberhausen is very popular. Visitors can not only discover the entire HUAWEI product range in the stylish Bauhaus ambience, but also enjoy first-class customer service including repair facilities. And the company also wants to further expand its cooperation with URW: Due to the overwhelming response after the first media campaign and in order for even more curious people to become aware of the shop, the manufacturer has launched another one just in time for the Christmas business.
